Something with an 'S'
There's something strong about surrender
To have a resilient faith
To be the bravest you've ever been
To go against the grain of the world
There's something sweet about surrender
Because to surrender is to do the impossible for others
To sacrifice yourself for them
To give up a part of you for a higher cause
To be selfless
There's something smart about surrender
Because to surrender is to be prepared for the fall
To know that your true potential is one extended hand away
To know that the same will be commanded of you
To know that "I" means "we"
There's something stunning about surrender
Because to surrender is to love beyond logic
To die for the unworthy
To see more than the sin at the surface
To know that what lies beneath is more powerful,
is greater than what can be envisaged by the feeble mind
And fools will suppose its inferiority
And scamps will fight it boldly
But they who know will delight in it
Will be consumed by its glory
There's something pure about submission
Because to submit is to be cleansed of the self
To allow the anointed authority to flow through you
To have pierced through the muck
To make your light visible
There's something powerful about submission
Because to submit is to conquer without force
To smite your enemies with a closed mouth
To wield the sword of the Lord with grace and delicacy
To have an undeniable talent
There's something pleasurable about submission
Because to submit is to find someone worth submitting to
To bask in their might and glory
To be secure in their love and affection
To be placed on a pedestal and guarded with the virtue of their heart
How they need you, love
How they would crumble without your love
What power you hold in your hand, love
What power
You have been blessed.
with love
There's something peaceful about submission
Because to submit is to live by and receive the promises of the Word
To know that you know the plan is being carried out
To be in agreement with the One who gives you rest
To dwell in His heart
