Fall

It started with a need old as time
A black pit no one could fill

But they tried

Shoved us in
and we tumbled
down
the
void:

gun powder
rusted metal
broken skin
blood
dirt and mud and
sand
sea salt
urine and shit and
sickness
bodies
over
board

new hell

land gone
love gone
hope gone

humanity

white cloud
sweet green
my hands are my life

sun long and high
hide whip
split flesh
turpentine and salt

black. ness.

broken bones

black. out.

bruised pelvis

parasite
to precious pearl

manila snap and swing
rotting dead Earth

It all came tumbling down
And the whole remained empty
